The Schneefernerhaus next to the summit of the Zugspitze in Germany.

The Schneefernerhaus, Germany's highest meteorological research station (2650 m asl), is located near to germany's highest summit, the Zugspitze. 

This site is ideal for monitoring the chemical and physical properties of the atmosphere. Amongst other research stations, the Schneefernerhaus is member of the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW). 

The station is equipped with two Aero-Laser CO-monitors, which are continuosly collecting data for the GAW network.
